Compare the Superglide Glass Mousepad and ParaSpeed High Speed pad to find which surface gives you the right balance of glide speed and stopping control for your gaming style.
Quick answer
If you want the fastest possible glide with precise stopping control, choose the Superglide Glass Mousepad. For a high-speed but softer surface that resists humidity, the ParaSpeed High Speed pad is the better value.
Surface feel and control
The Superglide Glass Mousepad uses an aluminosilicate glass top layer with a unique surface pattern. This gives you a very fast glide with good stopping power, ideal for flick shots and micro-adjustments. The ParaSpeed pad uses a softer woven texture that provides even glides across the entire surface while still offering great stopping power. The trade-off is that the glass surface can feel more slippery at first, while the ParaSpeed feels more familiar and forgiving.
Durability and environment
The Superglide glass top is extremely durable and resists scratches and wear, and its silicone base keeps it firmly on your desk. The ParaSpeed is super strong against humidity and dirt, making it a better choice if you game in a less controlled environment or tend to spill drinks. However, the glass pad is heavier and more expensive, while the ParaSpeed is lighter and more affordable.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Glide speed: Superglide Glass offers the fastest, most consistent glide. ParaSpeed is also high-speed but slightly softer, which can reduce initial friction for some mice.
- Stopping power: Both pads provide great stopping power. The glass surface achieves it through its pattern, while the ParaSpeed uses its woven texture.
- Durability and care: Glass is extremely scratch-resistant but can show fingerprints and dust. ParaSpeed resists humidity and dirt better and is easier to keep clean in messy conditions. Consider your desk environment: clean and controlled favors glass; variable conditions favor ParaSpeed.
- Price: Superglide Glass costs USD 98.97 (regularly USD 149.95). ParaSpeed costs USD 22.72 (regularly USD 34.95). The ParaSpeed is a fraction of the price. If budget is a priority, the ParaSpeed offers excellent performance at a much lower cost.
Product facts
- Superglide Glass Mousepad: The Superglide Glass Mousepad has a top layer of super strong aluminosilicate glass with a unique surface pattern for fast glide and good stopping, and a bottom layer of high-density silicone for a secure grip. This combination gives you a very fast, consistent glide with reliable control, but the glass surface can feel slick and requires a clean desk to avoid dust affecting the glide.
Superglide Glass Mousepad - ParaSpeed Mouse Pad XL~XXL (High Speed): The ParaSpeed Mouse Pad has a softer surface compared to traditional CORDURA, with an absolutely uniformed woven texture that provides even glides all over the surface in high speed while also giving you great stopping power. It is super strong against humidity and dirt. This makes it a durable, high-speed option that is more forgiving on the mouse feet and less affected by environmental factors, though it may not feel as fast as the glass surface for very precise micro-movements.
